To raise awareness of fire and explosion prevention and to ensure readiness in responding to emergency situations, An Giang Fruit-Vegetables & Foodstuff Joint Stock Company, in coordination with the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Department of An Giang Provincial Police, organized a firefighting and rescue drill in 2025 at the My An Factory (on August 23, 2025) and the Binh Khanh Factory (on August 24, 2025).
Focusing on Safety in Production
As a large-scale enterprise specializing in fruit and vegetable processing for export, production activities at Antesco always carry potential risks of fire and explosion from electrical systems, machinery, and raw materials. Therefore, fire prevention, firefighting (FPF) and rescue operations (RO) are always regarded by the company as a key task, closely tied to occupational safety and sustainable development.
An Giang Fruit-Vegetables & Foodstuff Joint Stock Company organized the 2025 firefighting and rescue drill at the My An
Factory. This year’s drill was held on a large scale, with the participation of the Board of Directors, management staff, the on-site firefighting force, and a large number of employees. Prior to the practical exercise, the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police provided an overview of regulations and basic skills for handling fire and explosion situations, ensuring effectiveness and safety throughout the entire drill.
A Realistic Simulation Scenario
The assumed scenario was that a fire broke out in the production area, with smoke and flames spreading rapidly, posing a threat to both people and property. As soon as the fire alarm was triggered, the on-site firefighting force immediately implemented the following measures:
- Activate the emergency alarm and evacuate employees from the danger zone.
- Use portable fire extinguishers and the water hose system to put out the fire on-site and prevent it from spreading.
- Coordinate with professional firefighting forces to control and completely extinguish the blaze.
- Conduct rescue operations: evacuate injured or smoke-inhaled individuals to safety and provide first aid.
- Protect and relocate property to minimize damage during the fire.
An Giang Fruit-Vegetables & Foodstuff Joint Stock Company organized the 2025 firefighting and rescue drill at the Binh Khanh Factory.
The scenarios were designed to closely reflect real production conditions, helping employees better visualize the development of a fire and practice flexible response skills in emergency situations.
Results and Significance
Through the drill, participating teams coordinated smoothly, carrying out operations quickly and in accordance with procedures. Employees reinforced their problem-solving skills, enhanced vigilance, and developed a proactive attitude toward fire prevention, firefighting, and rescue.
The company’s representative emphasized:
“Occupational safety is always the top priority at Antesco. Through our annual drills, we not only equip our staff with additional knowledge and skills but also demonstrate a strong commitment to building a safe working environment, ensuring continuous and sustainable production.”
Annual Activity, Sustainable Responsibility
The firefighting and rescue drill is an annual activity maintained by An Giang Fruit-Vegetables & Foodstuff Joint Stock Company across all its factories. This is not only a legal requirement but also a corporate responsibility toward employees and the community.
The drills at the My An Factory and the Binh Khanh Factory were successfully carried out, providing many valuable practical lessons and reaffirming the company’s commitment to the principle: “Safe production – Employee Assurance – Sustainable development.”
