50-Year Journey: Antesco Brings Vietnamese Agricultural Products to the Global Market

An Giang Fruit-Vegetables and Foodstuff Joint Stock Company (Antesco) has, over its 50-year journey of growth and development, continuously innovated and maintained strong partnership with local farmers, making significant contributions to the socio-economic development of An Giang Province, particularly in the agriculture sector. Over the course of half a century, Antesco has played a vital role in bringing Vietnamese agricultural products to markets across the globe.

Continuous growth and expansion

After 50 years of operation, Antesco – one of Vietnam’s leading tropical fruit and vegetable processing companies – has become a trusted partner of Vietnamese farmers, especially in An Giang Province, providing stable employment and incomes for many farming households.

After five decades of operation, from its humble beginning as a small processing facility, Antesco has evolved into a leading enterprise in the frozen fruit and vegetable industry, utilizing IQF (Individual Quick Freezing) technology across the Mekong Delta and southern Vietnam. Currently, the company operates four factories located in An Giang and Lam Dong Provinces, with the total annual production capacity of 75,000 tons of finished products –  equivalent to more than 130,000 tons of raw materials – meeting the strict standards of international markets.

Antesco brings Vietnamese agricultural products to the global market

The year 2024 marked a remarkable milestone, as the company achieved a record profit of VND 1,400 billion, nearly double that of 2023. With the profit of VND 87 billion, representing an increase of VND 76 billion, bringing Antesco to the leading position in Vietnam’s frozen agricultural export sector. In addition, Antesco made a significant breakthrough by sucessfully exporting mango to South Korea and the United States. In total, Antesco processed 28,000 tons of raw mangoes, resulting in nearly 14,000 tons of frozen mangoes exported – making it the world’s number one mango exporter. Other products such as green soybeans and baby corn are also well received in international markets.

In An Giang, Antesco works closely with farmers to develop standardized raw material zones, ensuring both a stable supply and consistent product quality. The company has implemented contract farming and linkage models covering more than 10,000 hectares, certified with export standards such as GlobalGAP and VietGAP. Its raw materials ecosystem extends throughout the Mekong Delta and the Central Highlands, with 50% of the cultivation area adopting sustainable farming practices.

Antesco focuses on enhancing the value of agricultural products by implementing international certified modern technologies, ensuring stable income for farmers. The company works closely with over 5,000 farming households in An Giang, aiming to increase their income by up to 20% compared with traditional farming practices. With business operation generating more than 20,000 jobs, Antesco plays a vital role in the socio-economic development.

The company is committed to continuously expanding the scale of its cooperative model with farmers, promoting clean agriculture through contract farming. Antesco provides technical support and has implemented linkage models with over 1,000 cooperatives and 5,000 farming households to cultivate key crops such as baby corn, green soybeans, Keo mangoes, etc. across more than 10,000 hectares. With clear strategies and a long-term vision, Antesco has established a comprehensive value chain from production to processing and exporting.

Antesco established linkage for production with more than 5,000 farming households

Mr. Dinh Hung Dung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Antesco, shared: “With four international certified factories – Binh Khanh, My An, Binh Long, and B’Laofood – each of our products refects cutting-edge technology, precision, and passion. Every year, we process over 100,000 tons of raw materials for export to more than 40 countries and territories. These figures reaffirm Antesco’s position as one of Vietnam’s leading fruit and vegetable exporters.”

Mr. Ho Van Mung, Alternate Member of the Party Center Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the An Giang People’s Committee, emphasized: “The province is transitioning from agricultural production to an agricultural economy.
